As a SaaS GRC pioneer, We have been hearing since this black swan event happened, that world wants to allow the topmost secure role in the company  CISO also goes vCISO route.

2 things - Great deal of advantage

1. COST- Instead spending 250k on a CISO, companies can optimize their spend on not wasting a CISO resources full time for a single organization without full utlization. Like how other roles becoming a fractional CTO, the CISO also have turned into vCISO model finally to provide 1/5th cost advantage. Having vCISO team engage for 50k with 4 consultants and 1 security leader is the most efficient thing the enterprise can get without compromising on the security 
2. TALENT- the talent across globe is made available through this.

There are few disadtvantages too. The new vCISO who starts remotely will not have the visiblity of the organizations real issues on the ground.
